Holy Iftar! The Calorie Guide


Ramzan has arrived and we are still making resolutions of joining the gym, eating healthy and not stuffing ourselves till we choke on the samosas and pakoras. But we all know it is going to go in vain for most of us.

So as always, we are keeping a count on calories and the exercise required to burn the calories off.  So how much exercise does it take to burn off the calories of a regular Iftari for a Pakistani? Well, we will tell you.

So be ready to be amazed or shocked at how much you will need to run just so you can burn off that big fat iftari or sehri. Yes, we know you feel bad and want to have a jalebi just to feel good.

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, most Pakistani women (60%) weigh between 55 to 70 kilos, the remaining 31% are heavier (24%) or leaner (7%) than the mainstream. 9% did not give a response. So as a media, an average Pakistani female weighs 62 Kgs. Also for men, we can take an average weight of 75 Kgs.
